What is the price of the tickets to Machu Picchu?

Tickets to Machu Picchu can be purchased online. There is an official website as well as several pages of authorized tourism agencies. If you decide to travel without a tour, you must buy your tickets and travel to ‘Mapi’ on your own. At the door they will ask for your ticket at the time you chose. There are four additional entrances that allow you to visit Huayna Picchu, Machupicchu Mountain,Huchuy Picchu Mountainm and Inca Bridge. The price varies depending on the type of ticket you chose. There are discounts for minors, university students and citizens of Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia.

The trip to Machu Picchu without a tour

Tickets are on sale at authorized agencies in the city of Cusco: a) Street Maruri 340. (from 7 am to 7 pm) and b) Street Garcilaso s/n (from 7 am to 7 pm).

Once you get the tickets you only have to travel to Machu Picchu on your own. To do this, you must follow the following route: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu. To carry out this route without problems, you must also purchase train tickets (from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes) and bus tickets (from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu). It is recommended that train tickets also be purchased online through the two available companies: Peru Rail and Inca Rail.


Entrances to Machu Picchu

Entrance Machu Picchu Only – This ticket allows you to visit the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu with all its famous buildings: the temple of the sun, the temple of the condor, the Intihuatana and more. Of course, it also allows you to take the classic postcard photo of Machupicchu. This ticket is the one that most tourists use to know the wonder of the world.

Entrance Machu Picchu with Mountain – This ticket includes a visit to the Inca city of Machu Picchu with all its famous buildings. In addition, it includes the tour of the Machu Picchu mountain, the highest in the place. This ticket also offers an incredible adventure on the trip. It is preferred by tourists who did not get the entrance to Huayna Picchu. This is the only ticket that allows you to re-enter the Inca citadel once.

Entrance Machu Picchu with Inca Bridge – This ticket includes the classic route to Machu Picchu, including the classic postcard photo and the visit to most of its constructions. Additionally, it allows the short tour of the little seen Inca Bridge (walk of only 25 minutes approximately). This ticket was recently inaugurated. It is an excellent option for the trip to Machu Picchu.
