Description

  • The three most visited tourist attractions during the visit to Cusco are: the city of Cusco, the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the Inca city of Machu Picchu. The best way to get to know them is on a 4-day tour that offers a complete service that includes everything you need for this incredible experience: airport pick-up, lodging, food, full transportation, tickets, tour guide, and more. On day 1 you will visit the city of Cusco along with all its archaeological sites such as Sacsayhuaman, the Coricancha, the city’s Cathedral, among others. The second day you will visit the beautiful landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas including Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Urubamba. Finally, the third and last day of the tour; the visitor will visit Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world and the main tourist attraction of Peru.

This is the experience

  • Start the tour with the pick up from the Cusco airport. In the afternoon the tour begins in the city of Cusco. You will visit the main temples and archaeological sites of the ancient capital of the Inca empire. First you will get to know the city’s Cathedral, one of the most beautiful on the continent. Then you will visit the Coricancha temple (Temple of the Sun), a place even more important than Machu Picchu. Finally that day you will go up to the mountains of the city to see the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. That night you will rest in a standard hotel in the city. The second day the minivan will pick you up from the door of your hotel to visit the towns of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. That day you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in the town of Urubamba. The places to visit are the Inca temples of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. At night you will travel by tourist train to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will rest in our hotel (standard quality). Finally, on the last day you will get up early to spend all the time you need in Machu Picchu. You will also visit the famous town of Aguas Calientes. The return is by the same route as the outbound trip. The service has everything the tourist needs to meet their expectations during the trip.

Itinerary

Day 1:

  • Pick up from the tourist at the Cusco airport and transfer to your hotel so that the tourist can rest after his long journey.
  • City Tour Cusco service: group meeting in the Main Square and visit to the Cathedral, the Coricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay (includes transportation, tour guide and tickets).
  • Dinner (own expense) and night in a 2-star hotel in the city of Cusco.

Day 2:

  • Breakfast at the hotel and pick up from the tourist (around 7 am) at the door of your hotel to start the trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • In the company of a tour guide we will visit the archaeological site of Pisac. Then we will have a buffet lunch in Urubamba. Finally, visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.
  • After the tour of the Sacred Valley, we will board the Inca Rail tourist train ‘The Voyager’ that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will have dinner at a local restaurant. There our assistant will drive you to your hotel to spend the night (dinner not included). Optionally we can visit the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes.

Day 3:

  • We will get up at approximately 6 am to have breakfast at the hotel. Then we will go to the bus station to make a short trip to Machu Picchu (only 30 minutes).
  • Once in Machu Picchu we will meet with our tour guide to tour the Inca City of Machu Picchu in his company (tourist tour of approximately 2 hours 30 minutes). We will also have free time to take photos.
  • We will return by bus to Aguas Calientes. We will have free time to have lunch (not included in the tour), take a walk or do last-minute shopping in the artisan market.
  • Finally, we will return by ‘Expedition’ train and minivan to the city of Cusco where we will spend the night in our selected hotel.

Day 4:

  • The last day we will have breakfast at the hotel in Cusco.
  • Then, if the tourist wishes, they proceed to pick up and transfer to the Cusco airport.
  • Otherwise, you can continue your days in Cusco. However, that day ends the 4-day tour.

Where does the tour start and end?

  • The tour begins with the pick up of the tourist at the Cusco airport (prior coordination). If you do not need this service, the tour begins in the city’s Main Square, ready to take the City Tour.
  • The tour ends in Regocijo Square in the center of the city (a few steps from most hotels and tourist restaurants).

How to prevent altitude sickness?

  • Altitude sickness or soroche can cause you some discomfort during your visit such as dizziness, fatigue or nausea. Try to avoid alcoholic beverages and fatty foods before your visit.
  • To reduce the symptoms, try to acclimatize one day before to the altitude of the city of Cusco. Drinking coca leaf infusions (a natural plant used by the Incas) is an excellent option.

The lodgings are standard and comfortable services (2 stars). If the tourist wants to improve the quality of the hotel, he should contact us to suggest some of the available hotels.

Can I make the reservation with a few days left before the trip?

It is recommended to make a reservation up to 3 days before the trip. This way you can better organize your entire itinerary. However, it is still possible to make the reservation 1 day before.
