It seems that Pitumarca encloses the magical mountains within its wonderful landscapes. Let’s go into this special mountain, very similar to the Rainbow Mountain but with an easier and shorter path. We will leave Cusco early, to then have breakfast near the Cusipata district, after them we will take a 2-hour trail road to the peasant community of Palcoyo, from where we will have to walk, the Palcoyo mountain is 4,900 meters above the level from sea. The return will be by the same path, but with the option of visiting the Stone Forest.

Itinerary

We will start the tour from your hotel. Our transport will wait for you at the hotel door between 4:30 and 5:00 in the morning.
Once we have all the members of the group, we will leave in the direction of the South Valley, along the road that leads to Arequipa or Puno.
The first section of our trip will last 2 hours, by road. We will have a not very long stop for breakfast.
The breakfast service is buffet style.
Together with our guide we will leave again in the sprinter minivan. We will pass through the Checacupe district, where you can see an Inca bridge and a colonial one.
We will have a 2-hour trail ride again until we reach the community of Palcoyo.
From the community of Palcoyo we will walk for about an hour to the viewpoint of the Palcoyo mountain. It is advisable to follow a light step.
After a prudent time of contemplation, rest and take pictures; we can return along the same route. There is the option of visiting the Stone Forest.
The return will be by the same path, we will return to the restaurant where we will have breakfast, but this time for lunch with the same service.
After lunch, it is expected to arrive in Cusco at 6:00 p.m. In a central square or at the door of your hotel.

The main difference lies in the walking time and the route is less demanding. The view is just as wonderful and along the way we will also see different beautiful landscapes. Something that is also important and although it seems little is that it has a lower altitude.

Is it possible to go with adults and children?

Yes, this tour is recommended to be done as a family, from children to seniors. The walking time of only 1 hour and the lower altitude are important factors that facilitate the walk to Palcoyo. That is why they do not offer the horse transportation service.
